Five or six guys were gathered in my dorm room at Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, Georgia when we heard who were the lucky winners.  It was the first and only lottery I ever won.
 
I stayed in college and after graduating from the University of Georgia in June 1972 and passing my Graduate Records Exam to begin Graduate School, I received greetings from Pres. Richard M. Nixon, welcoming me to the Armed Forces of the United States of America.  

The same year, I attended Engineer Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as a Private and 34 years later after serving in Panama, Oman, Egypt, Korea and Iraq and completing a successful O6 Engineer Group Command, I was retired and promoted to Brigadier General, (retired), GaARNG.  ESSAYONS
