I had a medium high lottery number (253 I think) and was concerned but not overly fearful of being called up for the draft. One day in the fall of 1970 I had a particularly stressful and hectic day at work and was really worn out when I arrived home. In my mail for that day was the dreaded letter from my draft board ordering me to report for a physical. That day was Friday the 13th. However on the very next day, there was another letter from my draft board stating they would fill their quota before reaching my number and that I should disregard the previous letter. I was greatly relieved, but everytime there is a Friday the 13th, I think back to this time.
