I had 2 years of college as II-S classification, then dropped out to make more money, and got I-A in a week’s time. That was in 1968. In 1969, it was still going through the mill on how to do the draft lottery, and I got inducted in Oct. 31, 1969, and while I was at the Reception Center at Fort Bragg, the Lottery finally went through, and my number was 353. Too late, too bad. They took me anyway, with scoliosis and color deficiency. I had all my trigger fingers, I guessed. Didn’t like parts of it, but, I am a proud Vet, and proud of all who served, no matter where. Oh, and I was drafted because of Vietnam, so consider myself a Vietnam vet who served 16 months in Germany.
