The Phi Deltas had a pool for the draft lottery. Number 5 won, I came in second. Number 5 was exempt, I was not. I graduated in August of 1971, and was drafted in December 1971. I served two years, in the medical corps. I liked the medical field and went back to school on the GI bill. I have been a CRNA for 30 years. The draft for me was the worst and the best thing.
